We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Professor Celia W. Goulding for her dedicated service as Chair of the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. Professor Goulding stepped down from her role effective June 30, 2024, after leading the department since 2019. As previously stated by Dean LaFerla, under her leadership, the department grew by eight faculty members and thrived despite the challenges posed by the pandemic. She was also instrumental in establishing the Graduate Student/Postdoc Council, further enhancing the support and development of our graduate and postdoc community.

Professor Goulding’s dedication and vision have been instrumental in elevating our department’s stature and fostering a dynamic academic environment.
